- Our next
activity will be on Feb 19, 2005 at the Clark Planetarium. We
plan to see the new show "Black Holes" with John DeLance.
Plan to be there by 4-4:30 so we can see the 5PM show. They have
snacks there to purchase.
- Some of
the things we have done in the past include;
The Simulator down in Pleasant Grove and up in Logan at the university
there.
- Mountain
Con Sci-Fi convention in September, Halloween party's, Christmas
"white bear" exchanges. We have gone to Denver to the
convention there where we have seen many actors. One of our favorite
activities is collecting autographs and getting them at conventions
is the most fun. We have done our "Klingon Jail-n-Bail"
several times at various Utah conventions including Conduit, Mountain
Con, and we loaned our jail to the folks who put on Autumn Con.
We have gone to the Klingon Year games in the past, as well as
the Seventh Fleet Games each summer. The Admirals Banquet is one
of the activities we look forward to doing each year. Other activities
include; kite flying, bowling, rocket launches, Horta egg hunts,
visiting various museums as well as going to Las Vegas to see
the Star Trek Experience.
- We also
do service projects as a club and as individuals. For instance
we helped the U.S.S. Kelly with their highway clean-up. We collect
stamps that have been cancelled for a group who sells them and
sends the money to Nepal for medical supplies and donkeys to transport
the supplys to the remote areas. This is also done with the U.S.S.
Kelly and has been done for quite a while. The last time I heard
from the group they had sent over more than 250 thousand dollars.
I believe that amount has grown because it was a couple of years
ago that I got that number..
- Our club
collects non-perishable foods and personal items for the various
food banks around the area. We save our plastic bags for them
as well. When the World Trade towers and Pentagon were attacked
we collected stuffed bears to send to the children of the victoms.
We also helped Kitrina people and animals this last fall by sending
clothing and pet supplies to the people who were getting those
things sent out.
